Version 2.0 — 14 October 2026

Official website: https://odyssea.space

This is a translation of the French text, and the French version is the one that applies.

A1

Purpose

These General Terms of Use, hereinafter the "Terms of Use", define the conditions for accessing and using the online video game ODYSSEA.

ODYSSEA is a persistent multiplayer space strategy game in which each player develops and administers a space empire.

In particular, the game allows:

  • Exploring and colonizing planets.
  • Constructing and upgrading buildings.
  • Managing resources and population.
  • Developing technologies.
  • Building and managing space fleets.
  • Recruiting and managing commanders.
  • Conducting military operations.
  • Managing territories and internal political situations.
  • Diplomatic and strategic interactions between players.
  • Communication between players by means of messaging features.

ODYSSEA is accessible in particular from its official website, its Web interface and its compatible mobile applications.

Use of the game entails compliance with these Terms of Use.

Paid features are also subject to the General Terms of Sale, hereinafter the "Terms of Sale".

A2

Identification of the Publisher

The game ODYSSEA is published and operated by:

  • Operator: Thomas Ailleaume
  • Legal status: Sole proprietor (entrepreneur individuel), under the micro-enterprise (micro-entreprise) regime.
  • Trade name: Ailleaume Labs
  • SIREN: 513 208 777
  • Business address: 57 Grande Rue, 77130 Varennes-sur-Seine
  • Email address: thomas[a]ailleaume.com
  • Director of publication (directeur de la publication): Thomas Ailleaume

Hereinafter referred to as the "Publisher".

A3

Acceptance of the Terms of Use

Access to ODYSSEA is subject to these Terms of Use, whether the player uses an anonymous account or an account linked to personal credentials.

Before first accessing the game, the user must be able to read these Terms of Use and accept them by means of an explicit affirmative action.

The Terms of Use are available at all times from the official website and the game interfaces.

Refusing the Terms of Use prevents the use of the features that require their acceptance.

Using an anonymous account does not exempt the user from complying with the applicable rules.

A4

Age Requirements

Subject to the final validation of the age policy and of the applicable ratings, ODYSSEA is intended for persons aged at least 16.

The user declares that they meet the age requirements applicable in their country of residence.

Where the law requires the authorization of a legal representative to use certain services or to make purchases, that authorization must be obtained.

The Publisher may implement appropriate and proportionate age verification measures.

Where it is found that the game is being used by a person who does not meet the required conditions, the Publisher may restrict or remove access to the service in compliance with the applicable legal obligations.

The age rating displayed on the various platforms may vary according to their rating systems and local regulations.

A5

Access to the Game and Anonymous Accounts

ODYSSEA allows players to start a game without creating a named account.

5.1 Anonymous Account

Upon first access, an anonymous account may be created automatically so that the player can begin their progression.

This account may be associated with a technical identifier that allows, in particular:

  • Saving progress.
  • Associating the user with their empire.
  • Managing resources and constructions.
  • Retaining game data.
  • Communicating with the servers.
  • The operation of multiplayer interactions.

Using an anonymous account does not necessarily require providing a last name, a first name or an email address.

However, this mode of operation does not guarantee absolute anonymity within the meaning of the regulations on personal data.

5.2 Linking to an Identified Account

Where this feature is available, the user may link their anonymous account to an authentication method in order to secure their access.

This linking may, in particular, make it easier to sign in on several devices and to recover progress.

The authentication methods offered may vary depending on the platform.

5.3 Retention and Recovery of Progress

The user is informed that an anonymous account may have limitations with respect to recovery.

Depending on how the identification solution works technically, the loss of the device, the deletion of the data required for authentication or an uninstallation may prevent the player from automatically recovering their account.

The Publisher clearly communicates any recovery limitations and the solutions available.

Where the account is associated with purchases, the applicable restoration rights and the legal obligations are respected.

5.4 Security

The user agrees not to circumvent security measures, impersonate others or fraudulently access another player's data.

Any known unauthorized access must be reported to the Publisher as soon as possible.

A6

Game Universes

ODYSSEA may include several independent game universes.

Each universe may have its own operating parameters, in particular with respect to progression, economy, development and conflicts.

Players may come to develop separate empires depending on the universe.

The Publisher may create new universes and change existing parameters for reasons relating to the operation, security, balancing and development of the game.

Substantial changes are communicated to the players concerned under the conditions provided for by applicable regulations.

Creating an empire within a universe does not confer any ownership right over that universe or its virtual elements.

A7

Game Rules and Strategic Consequences

ODYSSEA is based on mechanics of strategy, management, conquest and competition.

The user acknowledges that their decisions and in-game events may have lasting consequences on the progression of their empire.

7.1 Military Losses

During battles or other events provided for by the gameplay, the player may, in particular, suffer:

  • The destruction of ships.
  • The partial or total loss of a fleet.
  • The consumption of resources.
  • Defeat in offensive or defensive operations.
  • A change in the control of strategic positions.

7.2 Loss of Commanders

Commanders are virtual characters that take part in the operation and management of the empire.

Depending on the game mechanics, a commander may be lost temporarily or permanently.

The loss may result, in particular, from military operations or from events expressly provided for by the game.

The loss of a commander may have consequences for the organization and the strategic capabilities of the empire.

7.3 Loss of Planets and Secessions

Planets and colonies are subject to the game's territorial and political management mechanics.

A planet may, in particular, be subject to secession in accordance with the rules set by ODYSSEA.

A secession may result in the player losing control of that planet and may change the extent of their empire.

The loss of control of a planet may also have consequences for the infrastructure, resources, populations or other virtual elements associated with it, under the conditions announced by the game.

The player acknowledges that these mechanics are an integral part of the strategic experience offered.

7.4 No Guarantee of Progression

The progression of an empire is not guaranteed.

Military, political, economic or strategic events may slow down, reduce or alter a player's progression.

Acquiring VIP or VIP++ benefits or accelerators does not guarantee the retention of fleets, commanders, planets or territories.

7.5 Consequences for Purchases

Losses resulting from the normal and compliant operation of the game mechanics do not automatically entitle the player to the restoration of the lost elements or to a refund of the purchases made.

This provision does not deprive the player of their legal rights in the event of a lack of conformity, a malfunction or a contractual breach attributable to the Publisher.

A8

Resources, Items and Virtual Elements

Resources, buildings, fleets, planets, commanders, equipment, in-game currencies and other virtual elements are digital components of ODYSSEA.

They do not represent tangible goods.

The user holds the rights of use provided for by the game rules and, where a purchase is made, by the characteristics of the purchased product and the Terms of Sale.

Except through an expressly authorized feature, these elements may not be sold, exchanged for real money or commercially exploited by users.

The intellectual property rights in the game content remain held by their respective owners.

Virtual elements may change in accordance with the game rules and the legal conditions applicable to digital content.

A9

Paid Features

ODYSSEA offers or may offer optional paid features.

These offers may, in particular, include:

  • A monthly VIP subscription.
  • An annual VIP subscription.
  • Lifetime VIP access.
  • Lifetime VIP++ access covering several universes.
  • A premium virtual currency that can be used to acquire accelerators.

The price, the benefits, the access conditions and any limitations are presented in the store.

Purchases and subscriptions are governed by the Terms of Sale.

No purchase confers an automatic right to victory or to the retention of elements that may be lost in the normal course of the game.

A10

Communications Between Players

ODYSSEA offers features that allow players to communicate with one another.

These may, in particular, include group conversations, alliance communications, private messages or other discussion spaces, depending on the features available.

The user agrees to respect other players.

The following are, in particular, prohibited:

  • Harassment and threats.
  • Discriminatory or hateful remarks.
  • Repeated insults and personal intimidation.
  • The distribution of illegal sexual content.
  • Sexual solicitation targeting minors.
  • Impersonation.
  • The unauthorized disclosure of personal information.
  • Attempted scams or fraud.
  • Sending malicious software or links.
  • Spam and unauthorized advertising.
  • The distribution of content that violates applicable laws.

Conflicts between empires, declarations of war, rivalries and fictional diplomatic exchanges are part of the gameplay, but they do not justify personal attacks or unlawful behavior toward players.

The user must avoid disclosing sensitive personal information in communication spaces.

A11

Moderation and Reporting

The Publisher may implement moderation tools in order to protect players, prevent abuse and ensure compliance with the Terms of Use.

Users may report problematic behavior or content using the tools available in the game or through the contact channel indicated by the Publisher.

Moderation measures may, in particular, include:

  • A warning.
  • The removal of a message.
  • A restriction on communications.
  • A temporary suspension of social features.
  • A temporary suspension of the account.
  • The permanent closure of the account in justified cases.

Sanctions are assessed according to the seriousness of the facts, their repetition and the circumstances.

Mechanisms for notification, for stating the reasons for decisions and for appeal are applied where regulations so require.

Reporting channel: the game's reporting tools (report a message or a player), or an email to contact[a]odyssea.space.

Procedure for contesting decisions: the Publisher decides on sanctions. Where an email address is associated with the account, the user is informed of the sanction and its reasons by email, and may contest it by replying to that email. An anonymous account with no associated address cannot be notified: the sanction applies to it without notice.

A12

Cheating and Prohibited Conduct

Any conduct intended to disrupt the operation of the game or to obtain an unauthorized advantage is prohibited.

The following are, in particular, prohibited:

  • The use of cheating software.
  • The unauthorized modification of the game client.
  • The abusive exploitation of vulnerabilities.
  • The fraudulent duplication of resources or items.
  • The fraudulent modification of data.
  • The interception or falsification of communications with the servers.
  • Attacks against the game's infrastructure.
  • The circumvention of sanctions.
  • The unauthorized sale of accounts or virtual elements.

The use of scripts, bots or automation is subject to the specific rules published by the Publisher.

The rules on multiple accounts and on any abusive interactions between accounts are specified separately where necessary.

The Publisher may take proportionate measures intended to preserve the integrity of the game.

A13

Service Availability

ODYSSEA is an online game that requires access to IT infrastructure.

The Publisher uses reasonable means to ensure its operation, maintenance and security.

Interruptions may occur, in particular, for:

  • Technical maintenance.
  • Updates.
  • Bug fixes.
  • The protection of the infrastructure.
  • The resolution of incidents.
  • Events reasonably beyond the Publisher's control.

Scheduled interruptions are announced to the extent possible.

The Publisher does not guarantee the complete absence of interruptions.

The legal obligations relating to the supply and conformity of digital services remain applicable.

A14

Updates and Evolution of the Game

ODYSSEA is an evolving service.

The Publisher may add, modify or rebalance features in order to improve the gaming experience, correct anomalies or ensure the long-term viability of the service.

These changes may, in particular, concern buildings, research, commanders, planets, combat systems, political mechanics and economic parameters.

The updates necessary for the security and conformity of the service are provided in accordance with the applicable obligations.

Changes that substantially affect paid digital services are made under the conditions provided for by applicable law.

A15

Closure of a Universe or of the Game

The Publisher may consider closing a universe or permanently discontinuing ODYSSEA for technical, economic or organizational reasons or other legitimate grounds.

The players concerned are informed of such a decision in advance, with appropriate notice, except in exceptional circumstances.

The closure of a universe or of the game may result in the end of access to the associated virtual elements.

The rights of players holding an active subscription, lifetime VIP access, lifetime VIP++ or purchased credits are handled in accordance with the Terms of Sale and the applicable legal provisions.

The Publisher cannot exclude the remedies legally available to consumers in the event of the discontinuation of, or failure to supply, the service.

A16

Intellectual Property

ODYSSEA, its narrative universe, its peoples, its visual identity, its software, its interfaces, its illustrations, its music, its texts and its other protected creations belong to their respective owners.

The user is granted a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use the game in accordance with these Terms of Use.

Any unauthorized reproduction, extraction, exploitation or commercial distribution of protected elements is prohibited, except as provided by law.

Users retain any rights they may hold in the original content they publish.

They authorize its use to the extent necessary for the display, operation, security and moderation of the features concerned.

A17

Protection of Personal Data

The Publisher processes certain data necessary for the operation of ODYSSEA.

This data may, in particular, relate to:

  • The technical identifiers of anonymous accounts.
  • Authentication information.
  • The progression of empires.
  • Interactions between players.
  • Messages and reports.
  • Transaction histories.
  • Technical and security data.

The processing operations are described in the Privacy Policy.

Using an anonymous account does not exclude the application of the regulations on personal data.

A18

Deletion and Suspension of Accounts

The user may request the deletion of their account in accordance with the procedures made available by ODYSSEA.

Deletion may result in the loss of access to their progress and to the associated features, subject to technical conditions and legal obligations.

The Publisher informs the player of the consequences of deletion, in particular where purchases are associated with the account.

Certain data may be retained where the law permits or requires it, in particular for accounting, security or dispute-handling obligations.

The Publisher may suspend or close an account in the event of a sufficiently serious breach of the Terms of Use.

Sanctions are proportionate and subject to the applicable remedies.

The consequences for paid purchases are handled in accordance with the Terms of Sale and the legal rights of consumers.

A19

Liability

The user is responsible for their strategic decisions and their conduct in the game, under the conditions provided for by law.

The Publisher is not liable for the normal consequences of compliant gameplay, in particular military defeats, destruction of fleets, loss of commanders, loss of planets or secessions.

This exclusion does not cover damage resulting from a fault, a malfunction or a breach legally attributable to the Publisher.

Nothing in these Terms of Use limits any liability whose exclusion is prohibited by law.

A20

Amendments to the Terms of Use

The Terms of Use may change in order to take account of technical, regulatory or functional changes.

Significant changes are communicated to users by appropriate means.

Where the amendment affects a paid digital service or contractual rights, the specific applicable rules are respected.

Previous versions may be retained for evidentiary purposes.

A21

These Terms of Use are governed by French law, subject to the mandatory provisions applicable to users and consumers residing in other countries.

In the event of difficulty, the user may contact the Publisher at the following address:

contact[a]odyssea.space

The parties may seek an amicable solution.

The administrative, out-of-court and judicial remedies provided for by regulations remain available.

A22

These Terms of Use enter into force on the date of their final publication.
